After three years of rebuilding following Hurricane Ian, The Whale, a beloved Fort Myers Beach institution and favorite of mine, is ready to welcome guests again. The Sneak Peak Bash reopening is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, from 3 PM to 9 PM. A soft opening will follow on Wednesday and Thursday, November 12 and 13, giving guests a quieter opportunity to experience the revamped spaces.
The new three-story building, on the north end of the island at 1249 Estero Boulevard, features panoramic Gulf views. The Low Tide Lounge on the ground floor offers an open-air beachside experience, the Sea Glass Lounge on the second floor showcases live entertainment and glass walls, and the Lookout Lounge on the top floor delivers elevated views under a signature tiki hut.
Chef Rhys leads the refreshed menu, highlighting local seafood, slow-smoked BBQ, and craft cocktails that capture the essence of island life.
The Whale’s return marks a major milestone for Fort Myers Beach, symbolizing resilience and community spirit. I, for one, can't wait to get back to one of my favorite places on the beach!
